Test Method for Sealed Glow Plugs
1 Subject Content and Scope of Application
This standard specifies the test method for sealed glow plugs. This standard applies to the test of sealed glow plugs. 2 Test Items and Methods
2.1 Appearance and Dimension Inspection
Appearance inspection is carried out visually.
JB/T5784-1991
Partially replaces JB3259-83
Dimension inspection is carried out with a vernier caliper with an accuracy of 0.02mm or other measuring instruments and special measuring tools with corresponding accuracy. 2.2 Sealing performance
Install the sample on a special device and apply a gas pressure of 4MPa (40.8kgf/cm2). When there is no gas leakage between the sample and the device, use the drainage gas collection method or other corresponding methods to check whether there is continuous leakage. 2.3 Cold resistance
a. The test should be carried out at room temperature of 23±5℃. b. Use a single-arm bridge or an instrument of corresponding accuracy (the change of the current passing through the glow plug after 1 minute is not more than 2%) to measure the resistance value between the sample terminal and the shell.
2.4 Temperature rise test
a. The test should be carried out at room temperature of 23±5℃; b. The sample should be heated at rated voltage and cooled to room temperature after 0.5~1min; c. The sample after test b shall be installed on a special cooling device to keep the temperature of the sealing seat of the glow plug shell below 30℃;
d. Connect the sample to the device as specified in Figure 1, apply rated voltage ±0.1V (measurement should be made when the voltage is stable), and then measure the time required for the temperature to reach 850℃ and 1000℃ within 8mm of the end of the heating element. Non-contact temperature measurement method or other appropriate methods can also be used for temperature measurement.
Approved by the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry on October 17, 1991 and implemented on October 1, 1992

2.5 Working current
a. The test should be carried out at room temperature of 23±5℃. b. Install the sample on the device specified in Figure 2, apply the rated voltage ±0.1V (measured when the voltage is stable), and read the indication value of the ammeter at the specified time.

2.6 Overvoltage test
JB/T5784-1991
Install the sample on the device specified in Figure 2, apply 125% of the rated voltage, cut off the power supply after 15s, and let the sample cool to room temperature. Then measure the temperature and working current of the sample according to the test methods specified in 2.4 and 2.5. 2.7 Overload testbZxz.net
Install the sample on the device specified in Figure 2. As shown in Figure 3, apply the rated voltage and the test voltage of 110% and 115% of the rated voltage respectively, then cut off the power supply and let the sample cool to room temperature. Then measure the temperature and working current of the sample according to the test methods specified in 2.4 and 2.5.

2.8 Power-off and power-on test
a: Install the sample on a special cooling device to keep the temperature of the sealing seat of the glow plug shell below 30℃; b. Connect the sample to the test device specified in Figure 2, apply a test voltage 10% higher than the rated voltage, and perform power-off and power-on tests for the specified time.
