Summary:

This standard includes four methods for determining the intergranular corrosion sensitivity of nickel-based alloys, Method A: Iron (III) sulfate-sulfuric acid test; Method B: Copper?Copper sulfate-16% sulfuric acid test; Method C: Hydrochloric acid test; Method D: Nitric acid test. The standard specifies the preparation of samples, sensitization of samples, test equipment, scope of application, test solution, test procedures and evaluation of test results. This standard applies to nickel-based alloys used in corrosive environments. The selection of the four methods, the alloy treatment system and the criteria for the results are negotiated by the alloy supply and demand parties.
