This standard specifies the DC current signal used to transmit information between industrial automation instruments (i.e., industrial process measurement and control system components).
This standard applies to the specified signal used to transmit information between industrial automation instruments. This standard does not apply to the information transmission within industrial automation instruments. 2 Terminology

2.2 Analog DC current signal
In industrial process measurement and control systems, a DC current signal that changes continuously within its range for transmitting information 2.3 Range of analog DC current signal

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Range of analog DC current signal

3.3 Ripple content of DC current signal
