The degree level, title and name of the academic degree used in this standard are determined according to the Degree Regulations of the People's Republic of China and the Provisional Implementation Measures of the Degree Regulations of the People's Republic of China. The category of management science was approved by the 15th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council. Since 1990, the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council has successively approved the establishment of the following professional degree types: the professional degree of engineering science was approved by the 9th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of engineering science was approved by the 11th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of law was approved by the 11th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of education was approved by the 15th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of engineering science was approved by the 15th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of clinical science was approved by the 11th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, the professional degree of the College of Stomatology was approved by the 15th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, and the professional degree of public health science was approved by the 5th meeting of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council. Master's degree, master's degree in medicine, master's degree in public administration, and master's degree in military engineering approved by the 17th session of the State Council Academic Degree Committee. The standard is based on the academic degree code of the People's Republic of China in 1986. The main changes in this standard are as follows: the original standard has been restructured and formatted, and some new codes have been added. The necessary supplements have been made to the degrees awarded by academic disciplines in the standard: Doctor of Science, Master of Management and Master of Business Administration have been added. The academic codes awarded by professional types have been added. There are 36 codes in total: 21.1.248, 51, 341 to 52 and 414. This code is a hierarchical coding system, which is divided into two layers. The first layer uses a single digit to indicate the level and type of the degree. The second layer uses a two-digit digit to indicate that 01--40 indicates the degree code awarded by subject category, and 41--80 indicates the degree code awarded by professional degree type.
