In order to implement the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste" and strengthen the supervision and management of solid waste storage and disposal sites, this document is formulated standard.
This standard will be implemented from July 1, 1996. After the promulgation of this standard, the disposal site signs of GB5085:85 Nonferrous Metal Industry Peripheral Waste Pollution Control Standard will be abolished. This standard is proposed by the Science and Technology Standards Department of the National Environmental Protection Administration. This standard is interpreted by the National Environmental Protection Administration. This standard was drafted by: Beijing Academy of Environmental Protection Sciences. The main drafters of this standard are: Liu Jingxing, Jiang Ming, Zhang Xinlin, Han Hongjuan, and He Shiqun. National Standard of the People's Republic of China

Graphical symbols for solid waste storage and disposal sites are divided into two types: reminder graphic symbols and warning graphic symbols. See Table 1 for graphic symbols and descriptions. Approved by the National Environmental Protection Administration on 1995-11-20 and implemented on 1996-07-01
