Sorghum
This standard applies to the purchase, sale, allocation, storage, processing and export of commodity sorghum. 1 Classification
According to the grain quality of sorghum, it is divided into two categories:
1.1 Quality sorghum: The grain quality is hard, and the horny part accounts for more than half of the grain, not less than 70%. 1.2 Soft sorghum: The grain quality is soft, and the horny part accounts for more than half of the grain, less than 70%. 2 Grade index
UDC 633.17
GB 8231 --87
2.1 Various types of sorghum are graded by bulk density, with imperfect kernels, moisture and impurities as price increase or decrease items. The quality indexes are shown in the following table: Bulk density, /L
Hard sorghum
Minimum index
Soft sorghum

Note: Nine provinces and regions refer to Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Qinghai and Gansu, and general areas refer to provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government other than the nine provinces and regions.
2.2 Various types of sorghum are priced based on Grade 2. 2.3 Shelled kernels: Hard sorghum shall not exceed 5%, and soft sorghum shall not exceed 10%. 2.4 Hygiene items shall be implemented in accordance with GB2715-81 "Food Hygiene Standards", GB2761-81 "Standards for the Allowable Amount of Aflatoxin B in Food", GB4809-84 "Standards for the Allowable Amount of Fluoride in Food", GB4790-84 "Hygiene Standards and Test Methods for Dibromoethane Residues in Food", and GB5127-85 "Standards for the Allowable Residues of Dichlorvos, Dimethoate, Malathion, and Parathion in Food". Plant quarantine items shall be implemented in accordance with relevant national regulations.
2.5 The maximum limit of moisture in purchased sorghum and the standard for safe storage of moisture as well as the standard for sexual sorghum shall be stipulated by provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. 3 Glossary
3.1 Bulk density
The weight of grain kernels in a certain volume, expressed in g/L. 3.2 Imperfect kernels
Kernels that are imperfect but still have edible value, including the following: Approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China on October 8, 1987 and implemented on April 1, 1988
3.2.1 Diseased kernels
Kernels with diseased spots on the surface of the kernels, which damage the embryo or endosperm. 3.2.2 Insect-damaged kernels
Kernels that are damaged by insects, which damage the embryo or endosperm. 3.2.3 Broken kernelsWww.bzxZ.net
Kernels with broken kernels, which damage the embryo or endosperm. 3.2.4 Toxic kernels
Kernels with mold on the surface of the kernels, or with discolored and deteriorated endosperm. 3.2.5 Sprouting kernels
Kernels with sprouts or young roots breaking through the cortex.
3.3 Impurities
GB 8231-87
Matters that pass through the specified sieve holes and have no use value, including the following two types: 3.3.1 Undersize
Matters that pass through a 2.0mm diameter round hole sieve.
3.3.2 Other impurities
Sorghum grains, sorghum husks (including unshed sorghum husks), foreign grains and other impurities that have no use value. 3.4 Color and odor
The inherent comprehensive color and odor of a batch of sorghum. 4 Inspection method
4.1 The sampling of sorghum samples shall be carried out in accordance with GB5491-85 "Sampling and Sampling Methods for Grain and Oilseed Inspection". 4.2 The determination of bulk density shall be carried out in accordance with GB5498-85 "Determination of Bulk Density Methods for Grain and Oilseed Inspection". 4.3 The identification of hard and soft grains shall be carried out in accordance with GB5493-85 "Inspection methods for types of grain and oilseeds and inspection methods for mixing". 4.4 The inspection of impurities and imperfect grains shall be carried out in accordance with GB5494-85 "Inspection methods for impurities and imperfect grains in grain and oilseeds". 4.5 The determination of moisture shall be carried out in accordance with GB5497-85 "Determination of moisture in grain and oilseeds". 4.6 The identification of color and odor shall be carried out in accordance with GB5492-85 "Inspection methods for color, odor and taste in grain and oilseeds". 5 Packaging, transportation and storage
The packaging, transportation and storage of sorghum must meet the requirements of quality assurance, quantity assurance, transportation safety and classification and graded storage to prevent contamination. Additional notes:
