Electrical connections between motor vehiclesand towed vehicles-Type 12N
UDC 629.11
.013.5
GB 5053.2—85
This standard specifies the specifications and types of the sockets and plugs of the 12N type electrical connectors between motor vehicles and towed vehicles. The electrical connectors are interchangeable. This standard is applicable to highway and urban road vehicles with a rated voltage of 6V or 12V for the electrical system. This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO1724-1980 "Road vehicles--12N type electrical connectors (standard type) for 6V and 12V electrical devices between towing vehicles and towed vehicles". Note: Type N (Normal) means standard type.
1 Number and arrangement of contacts
1.1 Number of contacts
The number of contacts is 7, and their serial numbers and uses are as follows: 1 Left turn signal lamp,
Rear fog lamp or spare;
Common circuit;
Right turn signal lamp,
5 Right rear position lamp, clearance lamp, rear license plate lamp; 6 Brake lamp;
7 Left rear position lamp, clearance lamp, rear license plate lamp. Note: When connecting the rear license plate lamp, the lamp can only be connected to one of contacts 5 and 7. 1.2 Arrangement of contacts
The arrangement of contacts is shown in Figure 1 (socket) and Figure 2 (plug). The serial numbers of the 7 contacts are consistent with the serial numbers in 1.1 of this standard. 2 Socket
The socket of a full-trailer train is installed at the rear of the car, while the socket of a semi-trailer train should be installed at the front of the semi-trailer (if necessary, it can also be installed on the tractor).
The socket is equipped with 7 contacts:
4 plugs (serial number 1, 3, 4, 6). 3 elastic plugs (serial number 2, 5, 7). The structure of the plug and the plug is shown in Figure 1. In order to increase the elasticity of the plug, the slot in the center of the plug can be designed as a cross-shaped slot. The length of the elastic part of the plug is more than 8.5mm. The plug should be consistent with the corresponding plug in the plug. The plug can be pushed into the socket with a medium thrust and ensure good conductivity.
All contacts and contacts and the shell should be insulated. Contact 3 is connected to the common circuit of the vehicle. The rear terminals can be connected to 2 wires with a cross-sectional area of at least 1.5mm2. The wiring is required to be convenient, firm, and conductive. The wires should be insulated.
The socket should have a protective cover (also known as a socket cover), which is hinged on the socket. After the plug is pulled out, this cover can automatically cover the socket. The cover should have a clamping claw to ensure that the plug is firmly clamped after it is inserted. On the inner surface of the socket protective cover and the terminal seat surface (except for the wire die-cast socket), there should be clear and permanent contact digital markings, and the length of the marking should not be less than 2mm. If no digital marking is used, the contact position should comply with the provisions of 1.1 and 1,2. All metal parts of the socket are made of corrosion-resistant or anti-corrosion treated materials. 3 Plugs
The plug and cable of the full-trailer train are installed at the front of the trailer, while the plug and cable of the semi-trailer train should be installed at the rear of the tractor (if necessary, it can also be installed at the front of the semi-trailer). The plug has 7 contacts:
4 elastic pins (serial number 1, 3, 4, 6). 3 plugs (serial number 2, 5, 7).
The elastic plug and plug of the plug match the plug and elastic plug of the socket in sequence according to the serial number. The rear terminal can be connected to a wire with a cross-sectional area of at least 2.5mm2. On the terminal seat surface (except for the wire die-cast into the plug), there should be clear and permanent digital markings of the contact points, and the length of the marking should not be less than 2mm. If no digital marking is used, the contact point position should comply with the provisions of 1.1 and 1.2. The seven-core cable is fixed on the plug, and a wire pressing device can be provided on the plug to prevent the cable from being pulled apart or broken. The place where the cable enters the plug should be waterproof and dustproof.
All metal parts of the plug are made of corrosion-resistant or anti-corrosion treated materials. 4 Identification mark
The shell of the 12N type electrical connector should be dark and durable, preferably black. There should be a permanent "12N" type mark on the outer surface of the socket protective cover and the plug shell, and the electrical connector shell should have the manufacturer's name. 5 Wire color regulations in the circuit
