Summary:

This standard specifies the conditions for the driver's cab lookout in both directions of operation of locomotives on straight roads and curves with a radius of not less than 300m. This standard applies to electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, EMUs and new locomotives used for international combined transport. This standard does not apply to shunting locomotives. Some standard content:

GB5914.1—2000
This standard refers to the International Union of Railways standard UIC617-70:1964 "Regulations on the conditions for observation in the driver's cab of electric locomotives and EMUs" and UIC625-60:1964 "Regulations on the conditions for observation in the driver's cab of diesel locomotives and EMUs". The difference between this standard and UIC617-70:1964 and UIC625-60:1964 is that the observation distance of the high and low signal poles in the International Union of Railways standard is calculated from the front plate of the locomotive buffer, while the buffer of Chinese locomotives is installed at the rear of the coupler, so this standard stipulates that the observation distance of the high and low signal poles is calculated from the locomotive coupler connection line, and the installation position of the high and low signal machines is different from UIC617-70 and UIC625-60 but in line with Chinese standards. This standard replaces GB5914.1—1986 from the date of implementation. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute of the Ministry of Railways. This standard was drafted by Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works and Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute. The main organizers of this standard are Ning Jianguo and Jiang Zhixin. 666

2 Referenced Standards
The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards will be revised, and the parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards. GB/T6769-2000 Rules for locomotive cab layout 3 Reference positions for achieving viewing conditions
3.1 Reference position of locomotive relative to track
3.1.1 Horizontal position
On a straight road: the longitudinal axis of the locomotive should coincide with the center line of the track. On a curved road: the locomotive should be in a position where the midpoint of its longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the radius of the curve. 3.1.2 Vertical position
The locomotive should be in a semi-worn wheel state and carry 2/3 of the full curb weight, and the EMU should also carry 2/3 of the rated load. 3.2 The position of the driver in the cab and the reference position of the driver's eyes 3.2.1 When the driver is sitting or standing in the cab and facing the direction of travel, the control handle should be in front of him and he can operate the various main control devices of the locomotive or EMU without difficulty. 3.2.2 The reference position of the driver's eyes should be in a cubic space with a side length of 0.4m. When the driver is sitting, the center of this space should be 0.8m above the center of the seat surface. When the driver is standing, the center of this space should be 1.6m above the floor where the driver stands. At the same time, the sides of the cubic space are parallel to the axes of the vehicle body. 4 Glandular super-conditions to be complied with
4.1 Lookout for high-column signals
The driver should be able to see the high-column signals 10m ahead or 10m away from the coupling line. The high-column signal machine should be placed 2.1m to the right or left of the track center and 8.2m above the track surface. When the driver is standing and driving, the visible range in the upward direction can be reduced due to the upper edge of the window, but the height of the upper edge of the window should comply with the provisions of GB/T6769.
4.2 Observation of low-type signals
The driver should be able to see the low-type signals within 15m ahead of the coupler connection line. The low-type signal machine should be placed 2.1m to the right or left of the track center and 0.2m above the track surface. Approved by the National Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau on January 3, 2000 and implemented on August 1, 2000
