The purpose of formulating this standard is to use unified signs and symbols on architectural drawings to express the opening and closing directions of doors and windows, and to distinguish and express the opening and closing surfaces of each door and window leaf. The application of this standard can accurately and easily express the working conditions of door and window leaves, and facilitate the classification and statistics of their structures, accessories and hardware parts in architectural design and door and window processing and production. This is particularly conducive to the use of electronic computers for classification and statistics, so as to expand the commercial production and order supply of doors and windows.
This standard refers to the draft international standard proposal, ISO/R1226—1970 "Signs of closing directions and fan surfaces of doors, windows and shutters", and its main contents are basically the same. Only editorial modifications are made to facilitate future technical exchanges with foreign countries in the field of architectural doors and windows. The scope of application of this standard is limited to two types of doors and windows: casement and vertical rotation, that is, doors and windows rotating around the vertical axis. 1 Door and window leaf opening and closing direction and its symbol In the architectural door and window drawings, symbol symbols are used to replace the concepts of "left hand" and "right hand" that were used in the past, to accurately express the opening and closing directions of door and window leaves, and avoid errors caused by ambiguity between left and right hands. 1.1 Rotation direction
In the architectural plan, the rotation direction generated when the door and window leaf is opened or closed is used as the symbol to express the opening and closing direction of the door and window leaf. 1.2 Symbol direction
In the two directions of opening and closing of each door and window, the closing direction is selected as the symbol direction to express the working status of this door and window, and it is represented by a symbol.
1.3 Symbols
1.3.1 Clockwise rotation is represented by "5", see Figure 1. 1.3.2 Counterclockwise rotation is represented by "6", see Figure 2. Closed surface

Open and closed surfaces of doors and windows and their symbols
On the drawings of building doors and windows, symbols are used to distinguish the open and closed surfaces, and indicate the positions of the open and closed surfaces, so as to facilitate the installation of hardware parts, door locks and other accessories according to their positions.
2.1 Opening face and closing face
2.1.1 The side facing the direction of opening of the door and window leaf is called the opening face of the door and window leaf, see Figures 1 and 2.2.1.2 The side facing the direction of closing of the door and window leaf is called the closing face of the door and window leaf, see Figures 1 and 2.2.2 Marking face
2.2.1 The side of the door and window leaf facing the room is used as the marking face to express the opening and closing face positions of the door and window leaf (Figure 3). Figure 3 Opening and closing direction and marking face
2.2.2 When the concepts of inside and outside are confused, such as the connecting door between two rooms of the same nature, it is stipulated that when the door is closed, the room located on the opening face of the door leaf is the room to which the door belongs.
2.3 Symbols
2.3.1 The open side of a door or window sash is indicated by "0", see Figure 1. 2.3.2 The closed side of a door or window sash is indicated by "1", see Figure 2. 3 Application of symbols
3.1 Symbols for half-open doors or windows:
3.1.1 For single-leaf casement doors or windows, the opening and closing direction and opening and closing surface markings shall be indicated by the two symbols "closing direction" and "marking surface" in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 1 and 2 of this standard. 3.1.2 For multiple casement doors or windows, each single leaf shall be indicated separately. 3.2 Symbols for revolving doors and vertical revolving windows:
3.2.1 The opening and closing directions of revolving doors and vertical revolving windows shall be indicated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 of this standard, as shown in Figures 4 and 5. 3.2.2 The opening and closing surfaces of revolving doors and vertical revolving windows are difficult to distinguish because part of the doors and windows face inwards and part of them face outwards when the doors and windows are opened and closed. Therefore, such doors and windows do not have opening and closing surfaces, that is, 5 is the same as 5·0 and 5·1, and 6 is the same as 6·0 and 6·1, as shown in Figures 4 and 5. Figure 4
3 According to the different opening and closing directions of the doors and windows, the models of the opening and closing surfaces, the corresponding doors and windows and their components, accessories, hardware parts, and detailed lists shall be compiled. 3.3

Choice of symbols
(Supplement)
5, 6, 0, and 1 are selected as the symbols for the switch direction and switch surface of doors and windows for the following reasons: B.1 Rotation direction
B.1.1 Arabic numerals are used to mark the switch types of doors and windows for the convenience of entering them into electronic computers for classification and statistics. B.1.2 Clockwise rotation is represented by the number "5" because the last stroke of the character "5" means clockwise rotation. B.1.3 Counterclockwise rotation is represented by the number "6" because "6" is next to 5 in the natural arrangement of numbers. And the last stroke of 6 means counterclockwise rotation.
B.2 Surface identification
B.2.1 Arabic numerals are used to mark the switch surface to facilitate program calculation using electronic computers. B.2.2 The open side is represented by zero (0) because its symbol is similar to the letter O, and the word "open" in English is "open", which starts with 0.
B.2.3 The closed side is represented by the number 1 because 1 is next to (0) in the natural arrangement of numbers. Additional notes:
This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Building Standard Design Institute of the China Building Technology Development Center. This standard was drafted by the Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering. The main drafter of this standard is Wan Guoan.
