This specification applies to printed board connectors used in communications and electronic data processing equipment and electronic equipment or devices using similar technologies. This specification does not apply to connectors mainly used for frequencies exceeding 3MHz. The purpose of this specification is to determine the unified specifications, type test requirements and quality assessment procedures for printed board connectors and to establish rules for the preparation of detailed specifications for connectors with assessed quality. This specification should be used together with the relevant detailed specifications. When there is a conflict between this specification and the detailed specifications, the detailed specifications shall prevail.
