FOREWORD

This Standard was prepared by the P 6869 committee to supersede AS/NZS 2344:1997 Limits of electromagnetic interference from overhead a.c. powerlines and high voltage equipment installations in the frequency range 0.15 to 1000 MHz.

The 1997 edition of AS/NZS 2344 was based largely on Australian practices of the time and failed to take adequate account of New Zealand conditions, primarily the lack of easements under transmission lines. This Standard prescribes the limits of interference that will allow for acceptable television and radio reception, and the methods of measurement.
