my country is a country with abundant quartz resources, but there is no unified and systematic quartz sand classification standard for various glass industries in my country. In order to accelerate the development of my country's quartz processing industry, promote product serialization, and comprehensively utilize quartz resources, this standard refers to the regulations on the quality indicators of quartz sand for glass industry in the United States, Britain, Japan and Germany, and combines the relevant quality indicators of domestic quartz sand and glass production enterprises to formulate the classification regulations for quartz sand for glass industry in my country. This standard includes the flotation quartz sand, high-purity quartz sand and ultra-pure quartz sand newly developed by Chinese scientific and technological workers in recent years, and points out the direction for making full use of my country's high-quality quartz resources. This standard was issued on January 31, 1996, and was implemented on September 1, 1996 after a 7-month transition period. This standard was proposed by the Quality Standards Department of the China Light Industry Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Glass Instrument Standardization Center. The main drafting units of this standard are: National Glass Instrument Quality Supervision and Inspection Center: The participating drafting units are Shaanxi Anchuan Glass Instrument Factory, Xingtai County Non-metallic Mineral Development Company, and Shenyang Glass Instrument Factory. The main drafters of this standard are: Jiang Zhongzheng, Liang Fuhe, Qian Xiuting, and Yu Zhanquan. 1 Scope

Quartz sand for glass industry is divided into 9 grades. Their purity (silicon dioxide content) and impurity content are shown in Table 1. 4 Test methods
4.1 Determination of silicon dioxide content
SiO. ≥ 98% shall be carried out in accordance with SJ3228.4; SiO < 98% shall be carried out in accordance with 2.4.2 of GB1347-88. 4.2 Determination of ferric oxide content
Fe2O ≥ 0.003% shall be carried out in accordance with Chapter 6 of GB3404--82; FeOs < 0.003% shall be carried out in accordance with 2.2 of GB3284-82.

4.3 Determination of chromium content
According to SJ3228.7.
4.4 Determination of aluminum content

AlO ≥ 0.2% shall be carried out in accordance with Chapter 5 of GB340482; AlO, < 0.2% shall be carried out in accordance with SJ3228.8. 4.5 Determination of titanium content
TiO ≥ 0.02% shall be carried out in accordance with Chapter 7 of GB3404-82; TiO, < 0.02% shall be carried out in accordance with 2.2 of GB3284-82. 4.6 Determination of lithium, sodium and potassium content
shall be carried out in accordance with 2.3 of GB3284-82.
4.7 Determination of loss on ignition
shall be carried out in accordance with SJ3228.3.
