This standard specifies the code for identifying the transport mode. This standard applies to the transport mode code used in international trade documents and messages, and also applies to the identification of relevant transport modes in the fields of administration, transportation, commerce, etc.
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T6512-1998. Compared with GB/T 6512-1998, the main changes are as follows:
——— Some terms are added in Chapter 2;
——— Chapter 3 "Code Structure" and Chapter 4 "Code Table" are changed to Chapter 3 "Code Table Structure and Representation", and some
names and descriptions in the code table are modified;
——— Chapter 5 and Appendix A are deleted.
This standard adopts the 19th Recommendation "Transport Mode Code" issued by the United Nations Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business Centre (UN/CEFACT) in 2001 by redrafting.
The technical differences between this standard and UN/CEFACT Recommendation No. 19 are as follows:
———The relevant explanatory content in UN/CEFACT Recommendation No. 19 has been deleted;
———"Annex 2 Transport Mode Code Table" in UN/CEFACT Recommendation No. 19 has been adjusted to Chapter 3 of this standard;
———The chapter and article numbers have been adjusted.
This standard is proposed and managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Electronic Business (SAC/TC83).
