Notice on the issuance of 35 industry standards including "Manholes and Handholes for Carbon Steel and Low Alloy Steel"
To all departments (bureaus and companies) of chemical industry in various provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and cities with independent planning status, and all relevant units: 35 standards including "Manholes and Handholes for Carbon Steel and Low Alloy Steel" (including construction drawings) organized by the Equipment Design Technology Center of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and edited by China Tianchen Chemical Engineering Company (see the attachment for detailed standard names and numbers) have been reviewed and approved as industry standards and will be implemented from April 1, 1996. The 35 standards are managed by the Equipment Design Technology Center of the Ministry and published and issued by the Engineering Construction Standard Editing Center of the Ministry.

1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the types, technical conditions and specimens of standard manholes and handholes of HG21515-95~HG21535-95. The standard is applicable to manholes and handholes made of carbon steel and low alloy steel used as entrances, exits or inspection ports on containers in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The nominal pressure is 0.25MPa6.3MPa at normal pressure and the working temperature is 40℃~500℃. This standard can also be used for containers similar to those in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The scope of application, type, basic parameters and dimensions of various manholes and handholes (including the materials of various parts in the manholes and handholes, the maximum non-impact working pressure value at different working temperatures, etc.) and their technical requirements are respectively specified in standards HG21515-95~HG21535-95.
