Summary:

This standard is applicable to the determination of dispersion stability of vat dye (ultrafine powder) suspension. The determination method is to place a suspension of a certain concentration of the sample in a cylindrical glass separatory funnel, and after a certain period of time at room temperature, measure the absorbance of the reduced leuco form of the upper and bottom suspensions, and calculate the dispersion stability of the suspension of the sample, expressed as a percentage. Not applicable to the determination of the dispersion stability of vat dye (ultrafine powder) suspension. The determination method is to place the suspension of a certain concentration of the sample in a cylindrical glass separatory funnel. After a certain period of time at room temperature, the absorbance of the leuco-dye in the upper and lower suspensions is measured, and the dispersion stability of the suspension of the sample is calculated and expressed as a percentage. Materials and instruments
Product No. 1546 glass separatory funnel: capacity 60ml. Spectrophotometer: 721 spectrophotometer or other similar performance brands. Magnetic stirrer.
Pipette: capacity 2.5ml.
Glass beaker: capacity of 50, 150, 250ml. e.
Thermometer: 100.
Volume flask: 50, 100, 200ml.
2 Reagents and solutions
The reagent specifications shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB2374-80 "General Conditions for Dyeing Determination". 2.1 Preparation of reducing solution:
Each liter of solution 1 contains 5ml of 35% sodium hydroxide solution and 3g of 85% insurance powder. 2.2 Preparation of dye suspension
Take the preparation of 5hml of a suspension with a dye concentration of 40g/L as an example. The method is as follows: accurately weigh dye sample 2 (accurate to 0.001), place it in a 150ml beaker, add a little water to make a slurry, then add 30-40ml of water, stir until evenly mixed, move it to a 50ml container, add water to dilute to the scale, then move it to a beaker, place an electric magnetic stirrer, stir at room temperature for 10 minutes, then move it to a separatory funnel, let it stand at room temperature for 4 hours and then set aside. a Test method
After standing for 4 hours, use a pipette to draw 5ml of the suspension from the scale of about 6mm below the liquid in the cylindrical separating funnel. Transfer it to a 200ml container and dilute it with water to the scale. Then, open the piston all at once and put about 10ml of the lower suspension into a 50ml beaker. Use a pipette to draw 10ml of it and transfer it to a 200ml volumetric flask. Dilute it with water to the scale. Put the above sample into a 100ml volumetric flask and use a pipette to draw the required liters. Transfer it to a 100ml volumetric flask, dilute it to 90-95ml with 60℃ reducing solution, transfer it to a 60℃ water bath for reduction for 15min, take it out, cool it to room temperature, continue to dilute it to the scale with reducing solution, and use reducing solution as blank solution. Use a spectrophotometer, select 0.5 or 1.0c for colorimetric determination, and select an appropriate wavelength. Determine the absorbance of the leuco dye separately, and the dispersion stability (X) of the suspension is calculated as follows: X
Wherein: A——absorbance of leucophore in the lower diffused solution; B——absorbance of leucophore in the upper diffused solution. Issued by the National Bureau of Standards on June 5, 1984
