1 Scope
National Standard of the People's Republic of China
Position of front and side windows and other windowsfor driver's cabs of locomotives
Position of front and side windows and other windowsfor driver's cabs of locomotives This standard specifies the rules for the configuration of front and side windows and other windows for driver's cabs of locomotives. This standard is applicable to electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, EMUs and new vehicles used for international combined transport. 2 Definitions
This standard adopts the following definitions.
2.1 Front window
Refers to the window installed on the front wall of the driver's cab for the driver or passengers to observe the line and signals. 2.2 Side windows
Refers to those windows installed on the side walls or side doors of the driver's cab. 2.3 Other windows
GB 5914. 2-2000
Replaces GB5914.2-1986
Refers to all windows installed in the driver's cab except the front window and side windows, especially the windows on the inner doors, as well as the windows installed on the equipment cabinets, measuring instruments and other devices. As long as the window area is greater than 250cm2, it belongs to this category. 3 Materials
3.1 All windows of the above three types must be made of safety glass to ensure the safety of the crew in the event of a collision accident or being broken by hard objects. 3.1.1 Safety glass refers to various types of glass, various glass-like materials, or a composite of two glass-like materials whose fragments will not cause serious harm to people in the event of damage. Such fragments should not have exposed sharp corners and edges. 3.1.2 The performance of safety glass should comply with the provisions of relevant standards, especially the optical properties and the properties of resistance to breakdown, bending, temperature changes, and adverse weather.
3.1.3 Safety glass should have an obvious durability mark. 3.2 The front window of the driver's cab should use a safety glass that will not break when penetrated or hit at any part, so as to protect the crew and ensure sufficient visibility to continue operation. Note: This article also applies to glass equipped with window heaters or defrosting and anti-fogging devices. 3.3 The safety glass used for the side windows of the driver's cab can be broken by the driver with force or a sharp hammer in an emergency. 4 Size
On each side of the driver's cab, at least one front window or one side window should have a size that allows the crew to evacuate from the window hole after breaking the window glass in an emergency.
Approved by the State Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision on January 3, 2000, implemented on August 1, 2000
5 ThicknessWww.bzxZ.net
GB5914.2--2000
