3.2 Basic Dimensions
The basic dimensions of octagonal hammers are as specified in the table below. Approved by the Ministry of Light Industry of the People's Republic of China on October 17, 1991 and implemented on June 1, 1992

4.1 Hardness
Basic dimensions
The hardness of the hammer surface at both ends of the octagonal hammer body is HRC45~～55, and the depth of the hardened layer is not less than 3mm. 4.2 Other requirements
Other technical requirements of octagonal hammers shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 4 of GB/T13473. 5 Test methods
The test methods of octagonal hammers shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 5 of GB/T13473. 6 Inspection rules
The inspection rules of octagonal hammers shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6 of GB/T13473. 7 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage
The marking, packaging, transportation and storage of octagonal hammers shall comply with the provisions of GB/T5305. Additional notes:
This standard is proposed by the Quality Standards Department of the Ministry of Light Industry. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Tool Hardware Standardization Center. This standard is drafted by the Steel Hammer Industry Standard Drafting Working Group. The main drafters of this standard are Lin Meide, Jing Guofan, Liu Yongbao and Chi Renheng. From the date of implementation of this standard, the former Ministry of Light Industry Standard SG255--1982 "Octagonal Chain" will be invalidated. 472
