The division of waterways in this standard is consistent with the requirements of GBJ139—90 Inland Waterway Standard. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Communications of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Inland Waterway Standardization Technical Committee: the drafting units of this standard; the Institute of Standards and Metrology of the Ministry of Communications, and the Yangtze River Ship Design Institute. The drafters of this standard: Liu Huiru, Xiang Zhizhong, Wang Feifei This standard was first issued on December 31, 1981. The Yangtze River Ship Design Institute is entrusted with the interpretation of this standard. 11

This standard specifies the general requirements, model design and marking of 300-ton-class long-distance section vessels. This standard is applicable to section vessels that operate in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and its connected waterway network. 2 Definition

Waterway network
Inland navigable waterways including the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Qiantang River, Huaihe River, Yellow River, Haihe River and other river systems (including the Beijing-Hangzhou-Yunnan River) connected by the Beijing-Kangzhou, Xiangyang, Ganyang, Zhenghuai and other canals.

5.1 Each barge section shall be provided with a signboard with the following contents: 8) YiBo model, factory serial number, standard number b) overall length, waterline length, double width, waterline, design draft, cut-off displacement c) manufacturer name 1
) year and month of construction.
5.2 The signboard is rectangular in shape, 330mm long and 200mm high, and is made of metal material (sound, device or other system). 13
