Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the graphic symbols for controls,indicators,telltales and the color of light signal devices for motorcycles and mopeds. This standard applies to motorcycles and mopeds (hereinafter referred to as motorcycles). 2 General provisions
2.1 Graphic symbols shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 3 of this standard. 2.2 The layout of graphic symbols and telltales shall be easy for the driver to observe and identify in the normal operating position. 2.3 The contrast between the symbols on the controls and telltales and their background color shall be clear. 2.4 Graphic symbols should be placed on or near the controls, indicators and signal devices that need to be identified. If it is really impossible to place them, a short lead should be used to connect the graphic symbol and the corresponding control, indicator or signal device. 2.5 If the graphic symbol represents a motorcycle or motorcycle part in a side view, it should be assumed that the motorcycle is driving from right to left. 2.6 Focused light should be represented by parallel rays, and scattered light should be represented by emitted rays. 2.7 The meanings of the colours of light signalling devices used in this standard are as follows: a.
