This standard specifies the test method for dirt holding capacity of filter elements for magnetic slurry filtration. This standard is applicable to filter elements for magnetic slurry filtration in the magnetic recording industry, and is also applicable to filter elements for other liquid filtration. 2 Terms
2.1 Dirt holding capacity
The amount of impurities contained by the filter element during its service life (when the pressure drop reaches the rated value), expressed in grams. 2.2 Apparent dirt holding capacity
Continuously add test powder to the test system, and the total amount of test powder added when the pressure drop reaches the rated value. 3 Method summary
When the test liquid passes through the filter element at the rated flow rate, intermittently add test powder to the test liquid until the pressure drop of the filter element reaches the specified value and the test is stopped. The cumulative amount of test powder added is counted and used to represent the dirt holding capacity of the filter element. 4 Test device and test materials
4.1 Test device

4.1.1 Storage tank: The bottom is 60°~90° conical and equipped with a stirrer, and the return pipe is in a jet shape. 4.1.2 Flow meter: The accuracy is 1.5 level.
4.1.3 Pressure gauge: The accuracy is 0.4 level.

4.2.1 Test liquid: drinking water or HY-10 aviation hydraulic oil, 4.2.2 Test powder: ACFTD test powder or other equivalent test fine powder, 5 Test procedure
5.1 Cleaning test system
Inject the test liquid into the tank and use a non-tested filter element with a nominal accuracy of 5um to purify the system for 30 minutes. 5.2 Test
5.2.1 Install the tested filter element into the filter, 5.2.2 Start the pump and adjust the shut-off valve so that the test liquid can be circulated and filtered through the filter element at a specified flow rate. 5.2.3 Add the test powder into the test tank at a rate of 5g each time, and make it into a paste. When the filter inlet and outlet pressure drop is close to 80% of the rated value, change the amount added each time to 1g. When the filter inlet and outlet pressure drop reaches the rated pressure value, stop the test. 6 Calculation of pollutant holding capacity
Calculate the cumulative amount of test powder added from the test record sheet. This number is the apparent dirt holding capacity of the filter element for the test powder. Additional notes:
