Liquid hydrometer, construction principles and standardization PRESS
Paint sampling method (paints, varnishes, similar preparations and their raw materials) Paint test under normal environment and specified conditions The hydrometer method is based on the Archimedean principle. When the hydrometer is immersed in liquid, it displaces part of the volume and is in the state of being equal to the displacement from bottom to top. At this time, the density of the product is the force of the weight of the liquid. When the weight of the displaced liquid equals the weight of the hydrometer itself, the hydrometer is at equilibrium and can be read directly from the hydrometer.
4 Instruments
4.1 Hydrometer
The following hydrometers may be used for the determination of liquid density: 4.1.1
M10008000900NFB35-510;
M10009001000VFB35-510:
c) M_0C: 0C0 1 100 NF B 35-510.OF
4.1.2 When the density of the liquid is outside the range of 8 g/mL to 1 g/ml, a hydrometer of equivalent accuracy shall be used. 4.2 The inner diameter of the test tube shall be less than the outer diameter of the hydrometer and its height shall be such that the bottom of the hydrometer is at least 25 mm away from the bottom of the test tube (see NFB35302).
4.3 Thermometer
The accuracy shall meet the requirements of STI./0.2/15/45, NF B 35 502. 5 Sample preparation
5.1 Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of NF T 30-048. 5.2 The sample volume shall be sufficient for three tests. Note: When sampling, avoid injecting products containing bubbles and suspended matter into the test tube. GB/T 21862.5—2008
6 Test steps
6.1 Before the test, place the hydrometer, the sealed vial containing the sample and the test tube in a room or thermostat for about 2 hours. The temperature must be constant at 23'℃±1℃.
6.2 Pour the processed sample into the test tube, let the bubbles in the sample slowly rise to the surface, measure its temperature and then pour it into the hydrometer.
6.3 After the sample is still in the hydrometer, read the value according to the meniscus of the liquid surface, accurate to 0.005 g/mL. 7 Conclusion
7.1 Read the value of the hydrometer according to three tests and average it. The reading accuracy is 0.005 at this time. The average value of mass density is accurate to 0.01.
7.2 When the measurement temperature is between 15℃ and 25℃, the measured density needs to be corrected. When the measurement temperature exceeds 23℃, the density decreases by 0.007 g/ml for every 1℃ increase in temperature. When the measurement temperature is less than 23℃, the density increases by 0.007 g/mL for every 1℃ decrease in temperature. Test report
The test report should include the following aspects: a) the nature of the tested product; h) indicate the standard number of this part;
actual test temperature:
actual test results;
various factors that may affect the test results; test date.
