《Funeral Home Construction Standards》 According to the requirements of the Ministry of Construction's "Notice on Issuing the 1998 Project Plan for the Formulation and Revision of Construction Industry Standards for Urban Construction and Construction" (Jianbiao [1998] No. 59), the "Funeral Building Design Specifications" edited by the Ministry of Civil Affairs 101 Research Institute has been reviewed and approved as a mandatory industry standard, numbered JGJ124-99, and will be implemented on February 1, 2000. This standard is managed by the China Academy of Building Technology, the Ministry of Construction's architectural design standard technology management unit, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs 101 Research Institute is responsible for the specific interpretation. 1.0.1 This specification is formulated to improve the architectural design quality of funeral homes, create good conditions for funeral activities, and meet the requirements of applicability, economy, safety, and hygiene. 1.0.2 This specification applies to the architectural design of new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects of urban funeral homes in my country.
1.0.3 The architectural design of the funeral parlor shall be based on the local funeral customs and ensure a quiet and solemn activity space.

3.0.1 The site selection of the funeral home shall comply with the national land use principles and the requirements of the local master plan.
3.0.2 Funeral parlors with cremation rooms should be built on the leeward side of the local prevailing wind direction all year round, and should be conducive to drainage and air diffusion.

4 Master Plan Design
4.1 Master Plan Layout
4.1.1 The master plan layout should be divided into business area, funeral area, cremation area, ash storage area, administrative office area and parking lot according to function. 4.1.2 The master plan design should meet the following requirements: 1 Carry out reasonable functional zoning planning with the funeral area as the center, so as to facilitate communication and non-interference.
The building layout is compact, the transportation is convenient, and the diversion of vehicles and personnel is orderly. 2
The funeral area and the cremation area are adjacent and connected by a corridor. 3
A place for mourning should be set up in the ash storage area. 4
5The administrative office has a good orientation.
There is room for renovation and expansion and green land, and the greening rate should not be less than 35%. 6
7There is a place for centralized garbage disposal.
Outdoor public activity areas and public toilets should be set up. The design of outdoor public toilets should comply with the provisions of the current industry standard "Urban Public Toilet Planning and Design Standard" (CJ14).
4.1.3 The funeral home should have no less than 2 entrances and exits, one of which is dedicated to funeral vehicles.
4.1.4 In addition to complying with the provisions of the current national industry standard "Urban Public Transport Station, Field, Factory Design Specification" and other relevant standards, the design of the parking lot should also meet the following requirements:
1 Traffic organization should be done well.
2 Parking spaces for the disabled should be set up in the most convenient areas for parking lot access, and eye-catching "barrier-free signs" should be set up.
3 Separate parking lots should be set up for internal vehicles.

5.1 General Provisions
5.1.1 The architectural design of the funeral home should be configured with business, funeral, cremation, ash storage, office and auxiliary rooms according to the scale and function. 5.1.2 Various rooms should be laid out according to the funeral process, with clear functions and convenient processes. 5.1.3 Rooms with heating and central air conditioning should be arranged in a centralized manner. 5.1.4 The funeral home building should have good natural lighting. The lighting standards of each room should comply with the provisions of Table 5.1.4.
