This standard specifies the sampling method and data reporting method for carbon black boiled in three-grid bottom-dumping railway finishing cars. This standard is also applicable to the sampling of bulk carbon black in compartmented road trailers. 2 Significance and Use
This standard can be used to obtain a typical sample of carbon black in each compartment or the entire tank car to determine the average quality or uniformity of bulk carbon black. 3 General
Sampling of bulk carbon black is very important because samples from different laboratories at different locations and with different numbers of trays can produce significant differences in test results. 4 Sampling Procedure
4.1 Discard at least 4dm2 of sample at each sampling port, and then draw approximately 4dm of sample. The sampling port is located on each side of each compartment of a three-compartment bottom railway tank car.
4.2 If sampling is conducted from the top opening of the tank car, take approximately 4dm of sample before sampling. Before testing, the carbon black on the surface of the cargo should be removed to a depth of about 150mm. 4.3 The samples collected according to 5.1 and 5.2 can be tested separately or mixed. 5 Sample preparation and handling
The samples are usually stored in sealed containers or metal containers until the test is completed. 5.2 When handling samples for determining the properties of granulated carbon black particles, the samples should be carefully extracted to avoid damaging the carbon black particles. 5.3 If the accompanying products are tested separately, each sample should be passed through a single-stage grid trough sample reducer at least twice. 5.4 If the individual samples are mixed, they should be passed through a single-stage grid trough sample reducer at least three times. 5.5 If only the average value of the carbon black properties is to be determined, the mixed sample should be tested. 3.6 If the average value and fluctuation range of carbon black properties are to be determined, a single sample should be tested. 6 Report
The report should include the following:
The national standard number on which the test is based,
The number of individual samples and their locations,
If a mixed sample is tested, the average value should be reported, d If a single sample is tested, the measured value, fluctuation range and average value should be reported. Approved by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China on June 30, 1995, implemented on January 1, 1996
