Sewing Machine Needles
Matching Dimensions
Tolerances and Combinations
QB/T 1513—1992
This standard is equivalent to the international standard IS0) 8239:1987 "Matching Dimensions, Tolerances and Combinations of Sewing Machine Needles". Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the matching dimensions and tolerances of sewing machine needles and needle bar needle holes or needle clamping devices, and defines the general terms of sewing machine needles.
In addition to the needle shank diameter and the functional length from the needle shank end to the needle hole, this standard also recommends a combination of these two dimensions. This standard applies to household and industrial sewing machine needles (hereinafter referred to as "needles"). 2. Reference standards
GB/T1801 Tolerance and fit dimensions to 500mm Hole, shaft tolerance zone and fit 3 Terms and symbols
3.1 Needle shank diameter α: The diameter of the matching part of the needle in the needle hole or needle clamping device of the sewing machine needle bar. 3.2 Needle body diameter d: The diameter of the part above the short groove or notch and below the transition cone (see Figure 1). u>t
Approved by the Ministry of Light Industry of the People's Republic of China on June 8, 199288
Implementation on February 1, 1993
QB/T1513—1992
The millimeter value of this diameter multiplied by 100 is the corresponding metric size needle number Nm, such as: Nm=90. That means the needle body diameter d of the machine needle is 0.9mm.
3.3 Functional length 1: The distance from the shank end of the needle to the needle hole (see Figure 2). 4 Fitting dimensions and tolerances
4.1 Shank diameter a
4.1.1 For needles with α<1 mm, it is sufficient to consider the permissible deviation of the needle body diameter "d". This requirement also applies to needles with a shank diameter \a" that is substantially the same as the needle body diameter "d". 4.1.2 For needles with a ≥ 1 mm, the required tolerance shall be in accordance with the basic deviation h9 specified in GB/T1801, and the deviation values are shown in Table 1. Table 1
Needle shank diameter
4.2 Needle bar needle hole or needle clamping device
4.2.1 Needles with a < 1 mm shall use a diamond clamping device. Deviation value of shank diameter
4.2.2 Needles with a ≥ 1 mm shall be installed in the needle bar needle hole or clamping device. The tolerance of the needle bar needle hole or the needle hole in the clamping device shall be in accordance with the basic deviation E9 specified in GB/T1801, and the deviation values are shown in Table 2. Table 2
5 Combination of a and l
The combination of needle handle diameter a and functional length 1 is shown in Table 3. Clamping hole diameter deviation value
