This standard is equivalent to the international standard IS7811/4-1985 "Identification cards recording technique Part 4: Location of read-only magnetic tracks--Tracks 1 and 2".
0 Introduction
This standard is used to describe the parameters of the identification cards defined in Chapter 3 below and a series of standards for identification cards used in international exchange. The recording technique and coded character set for track 1 for alphanumeric data and track 2 for digital data are specified in GB/T15120.2.
1 Subject matter and scope of application
This standard specifies the track locations of read-only magnetic records (track 1 and track 2) on identification cards for automatic data exchange. 2 Reference standards
GB/T14916 Physical characteristics of identification cards
GB/T15120.2 Identification card recording technology Part 2: Magnetic stripe GB/T15120.5 Identification card recording technology Part 5: Location of track 3 of read-write tracks 3 Terminology
The term "identification-card" given in GB/T14916 applies to this standard. 4 Location of magnetic material
The magnetic material should be located in the area shown in Figure 1. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on July 16, 1994, and implemented on March 1, 1995

The coded data track 1 should extend between two straight lines of 5.66mm and 8.46mm from the nearest parallel edge of the card, and they cannot exceed the straight line of 8.97mm from the nearest parallel edge of the card (see Figure 2). The coded data track 2 should extend between two straight lines of 8.97mm and 11.76mm from the nearest parallel edge of the card. However, it cannot be less than 8.46mm from the nearest parallel edge of the card (see Figure 2). When the third track specified in GB/T 15120.5 is also to be encoded, the edge of the second track closest to the third track (including the influence of edge effects) shall not extend beyond a straight line of 12.27 mm from the nearest parallel edge of the card. mm
