Determination of wear resistance of paint film on furniture surface
Furniture-Assessment of wearability of surface coatings
UDC 684.4 : 667
GB 4893.8--85
This standard is applicable to the determination of the wear resistance of paint film on the surface of wooden furniture and other wooden furniture parts. The paint film abrasion tester is used to grade the degree of wear of the paint film after a certain number of rotations. Equipment and materials
1.1 The working disc speed of the paint film abrasion tester is 70~75r/min. It is recommended to use the JM-1 paint film abrasion tester, and other types of abrasion testers with equivalent test results can also be used.
1.2 Grinding wheel dresser.
1.32 Rubber grinding wheel JM-120, thickness 10mm, diameter 50mm. 1.4 Vacuum cleaner.
1.5 The scale division value of the balance is 0.001g.
2 Test specimen
2.1 Specification: a circular plate with a diameter of 100mm and a thickness of 3~5mm, with a small hole of 8.5mm in the center. 2.2 The test specimen shall be stored for at least 10 days after coating and completely dried before testing. 2.3 The surface of the test specimen shall be flat, and the paint film shall be free of defects such as scratches and bubbles. 2. When sending samples, a test report shall be attached, including the name of the coating, a brief coating process, production time, etc. 3 Test conditions
3.1 The test room temperature is 20±2℃, and the relative humidity is 60%~70%. 3.2 The number of grinding rotations shall be based on the product standard or the agreement between the supply and demand parties. Recommended times: 400, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000.4 Test steps
4.1 According to GB4893.5-85 "Determination of paint film thickness on furniture surface", take three evenly distributed points within the range of 65mm in the middle of the sample to measure the paint film thickness, and then take the arithmetic mean of the three-point readings. 4.2 Fix the sample on the working plate of the abrasion tester, add a 1000g weight and a refurbished rubber grinding wheel to the pressure arm. Add a balance weight equal to the weight of the grinding wheel to the end of the arm.
Note: Renew the rubber grinding wheel according to the instrument instructions. 4.3 Put down the pressure arm and the dust suction nozzle, and turn on the power switch, dust suction switch and turntable switch in turn. 4.4 Grind the sample for 50 turns first to make the paint film surface present a flat and uniform wear ring (if uneven wear is found, the sample should be replaced in time). Take out the sample, brush off the floating debris, and weigh it (accurate to 0.001g). 4.5 After sanding for 100 more turns, remove the sample, brush off the shavings, and weigh it (accurate to 0.001g). The difference between the weights before and after is the weight loss of the paint film.
Adjust the counter to the specified number of turns (minus 100) and continue sanding. After the test is terminated, observe the wear of the paint film surface. 4.7 Test three pieces in parallel.
National Bureau of Standards Issued on February 1, 1985
Implementation on April 10, 1985
GB 4893.8—85
4.8 Each sample must be tested with a completely new rubber grinding wheel, and the grinding wheel must not be replaced during sanding. 5 Evaluation of test results and test report
5.1 The classification standards are shown in the table below.
The paint film is not white
The paint film is slightly white
The paint film is obviously white
The paint film is seriously white
Note: When the paint film is slightly white, the trace is slightly visible and it is difficult to judge, you can use a clean soft cloth to apply a little color ink to the part, and then wipe it off quickly. As a result, ink traces will be left on the white part, while the ink on the paint film can be wiped off. 5.2
Three inspectors must evaluate the wear of each sample separately, and take the most identical values as the evaluation results. The three samples must be evaluated separately, and the consistent evaluation values of two samples are the final test values. The test report should include the following:
Test date,
The name of the paint and a brief coating process of the sample, the storage time after the sample coating is completed;
The film thickness of each sample, the weight loss of the paint film after 100 turns and the wear resistance level, and the final test value.
