This standard specifies the core dimensions of perforated paper tape for information processing and interchange. The core dimensions specified in this standard are only applicable to perforated paper tape with a width of 25.4 mm. This standard is also designed as a product and a coordination standard so that the reels of perforated paper tape can be interchanged between different machines, that is, when the perforated paper tape wound on the core is replaced from one machine to another, the perforated paper tape and the core can be replaced and used together. This standard is formulated in reference to the contents of Chapter 4 of ISO3692-1976 "Information processing-Dimensions of reels and cores of 25.4 mm perforated paper tape for information interchange".

Diameter size of paper tape reel

The paper tape reel usually has a disk. The diameter size of the disk limits the diameter size of the maximum perforated paper tape reel allowed by the paper tape reel. Therefore, the disk diameter size also affects the interchangeability of the paper tape reel to a certain extent. In order to maximize the interchangeability of perforated paper tape reels, it is recommended to use two types of discs with diameters of 152.4±1.6mm and 215.9±1.6mm in product design.
