This standard adds a new 400-ton class according to the requirements of relevant departments. The division of waterways in this standard is consistent with the requirements of GB139-90 Inland Waterway Standard.
This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Communications of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Inland Waterway Standardization. The drafting units of this standard are: the Institute of Standards and Metrology of the Ministry of Communications and the Yangtze River Ship Design Institute. The drafters of this standard are: Liu Huiru, Xiang Zhizhong, and Wang Feifei. This standard was first issued on December 31, 1981. The Yangtze River Ship Design Institute is responsible for the interpretation of this standard. 18

This standard adopts the following definitions.
Waterway networkwaterway network
Inland navigable waterways including the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Qiantang River, Huaihe River, Yellow River, Haihe River and other water systems (including the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal) connected by the Beijing-Hangzhou, Xiang-Guangxi, Gan-Yue, Zheng-Huai and other canals.

5.2 The signboard is rectangular in shape, 330mm long and 200mm wide, and is made of metal material (copper, aluminum or other). 352
