This standard specifies 134 common graphic symbols for equipment, all of which are equivalent to the relevant graphic symbols in ISO7000≤Graphic symbols for equipment-Index and List
. These graphic symbols usually indicate the operating instructions, functional status, etc. of the equipment. This standard shall be implemented from October 1, 1996. Appendix A of this standard is a prompt appendix.
This standard is proposed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Graphic Symbol Standardization. The drafting units of this standard are: China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding, Shanghai Sign Factory, Harbin Sign Factory, and the Machinery Standardization Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry.
The main drafters of this standard are: Bai Dianyi, Zhang Liang, Chen Wuqiao, Fang Shijun, Lin Weimin, Zheng Dexun, and Qiang Yi. Scope

5.1 The application of general symbols shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 7 of GB7093.3-88. 5.2 The graphic symbols in the table shall be enlarged or reduced in proportion. 5.3 The superscripts around the graphic symbols in Table 1 are only the basis for symbol reproduction and application, and are not the content of the graphic symbols. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on April 10, 1996 and implemented on October 1, 1996
