Determination of peel strength of soft covering materials on furniture surface Subject content and scope of application
QB/T3655--1999
This standard specifies the method of using a mechanical testing machine to determine the peel strength between soft covering materials and substrates on the surface of furniture. This standard is applicable to the assessment of the peel strength of soft covering materials such as PVC plastic film, leather, artificial leather, fabric, etc., and furniture and other wooden products made by gluing them with wood and wood materials as substrates. 2 Principle
Use a mechanical testing machine to peel the soft covering material off from the surface of the substrate at 180°, observe and record the damage condition and maximum damage load of the bonding surface of the specimen.
3 Test equipment and measuring instruments
3.1 Mechanical testing machine
The maximum load is 100N, and the relative error should not be greater than ±1%. The equipment should have an automatic recording device. 3.2 Clamp
It is divided into upper and lower clamps to fix the specimen (see Figure 1). Figure 1 Installation method of specimen

Division value is 0.02mm, used to measure the width of the specimen. 3.4 Outside micrometer
Division value is 0.01mm, used to measure the thickness of the covering material. 4 Specimen
4.1 The length of the specimen is 150mm, the width is 25mm, and the thickness shall not be greater than 7mm. The shape of the specimen is shown in Figure 2. When measuring the peel strength between the facing material and the base material used for edge banding, the width of the test piece shall be equal to the thickness of the edge banded component. 150

1~ Saw cut; 2--Soft facing material; 3-Glue layer; 4-Base material4.2 The number of test pieces shall be specified in the technical documents of the relevant product, but shall not be less than 16 pieces. 4.3 The test materials may be directly taken from different parts of the furniture components to be tested, or they may be specially made of the same material under the same gluing conditions.
4.4 The glued test materials shall be aged under indoor conditions before they can be made into test pieces. Aging time: hot-pressed test materials shall be aged for not less than 48 hours; cold-pressed test materials shall be aged for not less than 72 hours.
4.5 When sawing the test pieces from the test materials, a rectangular strip with a width of b may be sawed out along the wood grain direction of the base material. If the test material is too thick, part of the base material should be sawed off to make the thickness of the test piece no more than 7mm, and then the test piece should be sawed according to the shape of Figure 2. Finally, a saw cut should be made horizontally at a distance of 20mm from one end of the test piece. The saw teeth should not touch the covering material when sawing. 4.6 The end face of the test piece should be sawed flat and perpendicular to the side. If 10% of the covering material is found to be debonded, the test piece should be scrapped. 4.7 Before the test, the width of each test piece should be measured, and the measurement error should not be greater than 0.1mm. At the same time, the thickness of the covering layer of each test piece should be measured, and the measurement error should not be greater than 0.01mm.
4.8 Before the test, the test piece should be placed at a temperature of (20±2)℃ and a relative humidity of 60% to 70% for 48 hours before the test can be carried out. 5 Test steps
5.1 Reverse the covering material 180 degrees along the saw cut and peel it off manually until 4045mm from the end of the test piece, as shown in Figure 3. 40-~45
Figure 3 Peeling method of test piece
5.2Clamp the test piece on the upper and lower fixtures as shown in Figure 1, and the axis of the substrate should be consistent with the movement direction of the fixture. 5.3Start the testing machine and make the lower fixture descend at a uniform hook speed of 0.2~0.8mm/s, and the peeling length is 20~~30mm. 5.4Record the maximum value P of the peeling strength between the covering material and the substrate, with a reading accuracy of 0.5N, and record the degree of damage. The recording format is shown in Appendix A.
