Summary:
This standard applies to the test method standards for the manufacturing length of long-distance and urban communication cables. 1.1 This standard applies to the test method standard for the manufacturing of long-distance and urban communication cables. Under appropriate conditions, it can also be used as a reference in the corresponding tests on other communication cables or installed communication cables. 1.2 The important electrical parameters of the communication cable tested by the test methods specified in this standard are sufficient to ensure the transmission quality and reliability of the communication cable transmission system.
1.3 The test conditions specified in the test method shall be specified in the product standard when necessary. 1.4 The test method standard for communication cables is first used for type testing. Sampling test and routine test shall also be adopted unless otherwise specified in the product standard.

2.1 Type test (code T) Type test is a test conducted by the manufacturer before supplying a certain type of cable according to the product standard. The characteristic of type test is one-time test. When the material, structure and main process of the cable are changed, which may affect the performance of the cable, the test must be repeated. Or when there are other provisions in the product standard, such as periodic test, etc., the test shall also be repeated according to the provisions.
2.2 Sampling test Sample test (code S) Sampling test is a test conducted by taking a complete cable from the manufacturing batch, or cutting or extracting a sample or element from it. 2.3 Routine test Routine test (code R) Routine test is a test conducted by the manufacturer on all finished cables. 3 General provisions
3.1 Unless otherwise specified, the test shall be carried out at ambient temperature. 3.2 In addition to the test methods specified in the communication cable test method standard, other electrical properties, such as insulation resistance, dielectric strength test (voltage test), and physical and mechanical properties test, shall adopt the relevant wire and cable test method standards. Supplementary provisions may be made when necessary. 3.3 The drawings of test instruments and equipment in the test method standard are schematic diagrams of an instrument that may be used in the test.
