This standard is formulated based on the experience and accident analysis of the safe use of electric chain saws in timber operations in lumberyards, and with reference to relevant foreign standards for the safety of electric tools. The setting of each chapter of the technical elements of this standard is consistent with the relevant foreign standards for the safety regulations for the use of portable machinery. This standard is different from GB3883.14--1993 Safety of portable electric tools Part II: Special requirements for electric chain saws. This standard focuses on the regulations that must be followed when using electric chain saws in forestry production, including requirements for operators, site conditions, environment, operating procedures, fault handling, machine storage, etc., while the structure, performance and safety requirements of the machine itself are implemented in accordance with GB3883.14. This standard is proposed and managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Forestry Machinery. The drafting units of this standard are: Heilongjiang Timber Harvesting and Transportation Institute, Harbin Forestry Machinery Research Institute of the Ministry of Forestry, and the main drafters of this standard are: Zu Qingxi, Zeng Wanhua, Liu Qin, Fan Dongwen, and Liu Yumei. 423

The clauses contained in the following standards constitute the clauses of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards. GB3883.11991 Safety of handheld electric tools Part 1: General requirements (for certification purposes) GB3883.141993 Safety of handheld electric tools Part 1: Special requirements for electric chain saws 3 Safety operating procedures
3.1 Warning: The operator and the unit that uses the electric chain saw must bear the responsibility for personal injury and property loss caused by accidental accidents during the use of the electric chain saw. 3.2 General requirements
3.2.1 The electric chain saw shall comply with the provisions of GB3883.1 and GB3883.14. 3.2.2 The operator must be familiar with the performance and operation of the electric chain saw and be able to operate and maintain it correctly according to the instruction manual. 3.2.3 The operator must be trained and hold a certificate of employment. The following persons are not allowed to operate the electric chain saw: a) Minors and the elderly;
b) The weak and disabled;
c) People who are drunk or taking narcotic drugs. 3.2.4 Do not operate the electric chain saw in the following situations: a) When someone is close to you; b) Before the auxiliary personnel of the road timber retreat to a safe area; c) The original strips in the operation area are not stable; d) Insufficient light; e) In rainy days, the wind force is greater than level 5 and there is an open-air site when electricity is needed; f) There is no chain break protection device and rebound protection device, or the device is damaged. 3.3 Equipment
3.3.1 Safety shoes must be worn during operation.
3.3.2 Do not wear loose and loose clothes and shorts during operation. Do not wear decorations such as ties, bracelets, anklets, etc. 3.3.3 Carefully check the wear degree of the saw chain, guide plate, sprocket and other components and the tension of the saw chain, and make necessary adjustments and replacements. 3.3.4 Check whether the switch of the electric chain saw is intact, whether the power connector is firmly connected, and whether the cable insulation layer is worn. 3.3.5 Thoroughly inspect the work area and remove stones, metal objects, branches and other discarded materials. 3.3.6 Before working, select a safe evacuation channel and safe area. Approved by the State Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision on January 25, 1999 124
Implementation on August 1, 1999
3.4 Operation
GB17668—1999
3.4.1 When the original strip being processed is within 1.5m of the conveyor, no operation is allowed. 3.4.2 Before connecting the power supply, the electric chain saw must be turned off and turned off to prevent accidental start. 3.4.3 Before cutting wood, start the electric chain saw and let it idle for 1 minute to check whether it is running normally. 3.4.4 When starting or operating, hands and feet must not be close to rotating parts, especially above and below the chain. 3.4.5 When the fuse is blown or the relay trips, it should be checked immediately. 3.4.6 Do not overload the circuit and do not connect high-capacity fuses. 3.4.7 The electric chain saw must be operated with both hands.
Stand firmly when operating. Do not stand under the strip or log or on the strip or log that may roll. 3.4.8
When troubleshooting the saw, pay special attention to the safety of the assistants. 3.4.9
During the operation, the sawing mechanism should be lubricated and cooled at any time. When the strip is about to be sawed off, pay attention to the movement of the wood and quickly lift the electric chain saw after sawing. When transferring the operation, the electric chain saw switch must be turned off first, and running is not allowed during the transfer. The power supply should be cut off immediately in the following situations:
a) When the saw chain hits other objects and needs to be checked for damage before restarting;
b) When abnormal sound or vibration occurs during operation and needs to be checked and troubleshooted;
d) When the nearby original strip or original material is found to move;
c) When the saw is clamped in the wood;
f) When leakage is found;
g) When the operation is finished.
3.5 Maintenance and storage
3.5.1 After each operation, tighten all nuts, bolts, and screws, check the wear of the saw chain, guide bar, and sprocket, and make necessary adjustments and replacements.
3.5.2 Check the wear of the power plug and the cable insulation layer. If damage is found, replace or repair it in time. 3.5.3 Before long-term storage, remove the residual wood chips and dirt, remove the saw chain and guide bar, apply anti-rust oil, and protect the motor from dust. 3.5.4 It should be stored in a dry environment.
