This standard specifies the limit requirements for nitrate in vegetables. This standard applies to leafy vegetables, root vegetables, stem vegetables, solanaceous vegetables, melons, and legumes. 2 Normative references

Leafy vegetables: mainly include green leafy vegetables, cabbage, cabbage, and leek. Root vegetables: mainly include radish, carrot, root mustard, and turnip. Stem vegetables: mainly include stem cabbage and stem mustard. Solanaceae: mainly include tomatoes, eggplants, hot (sweet) peppers, etc. Melons: mainly include cucumbers, pumpkins, wax gourds, melons, bitter melons, loofahs, chayote, snake melons, etc. Legumes: mainly include kidney beans, cowpeas, peas, vegetable soybeans, broad beans, lentils, green beans, etc. 4 Requirements
The limit of nitrate in vegetables shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. Table 1 Limit of nitrate in vegetables

The identification of vegetable names shall be in accordance with GB/T8854, the sampling method shall be in accordance with GB/T8855, the determination of nitrate content in vegetables shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T15401, GB/T5009.33 and GB/T19339, and the rapid determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T19339. In case of dispute over the results, GB/T15401 shall prevail.
