If the thickness of the straight edge section of the neck welding flange exceeds the wall thickness of the steel pipe connected to it by 1In, the straight edge section of the flange shall be thinned at the inner diameter, and the slope of the thinned section shall be less than or equal to 1.3, as required in Figure 53. 37.5°±2.5°
