Summary:
This standard specifies the determination method of butyl rubber and polyisobutylene in rubber. This standard is applicable to the determination of butyl rubber or polyisobutylene content in rubber or rubber products containing polybutadiene rubber (BR), chloroprene rubber (CR), polyisoprene rubber (IR), natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM) and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). This standard is not applicable to the determination of the content of a single component in a blend containing both butyl rubber and polyisobutylene.
