Some standard content:

GB/T4372.6—2001
This standard is a revision of GB/T4372.5—1984 "Chemical analysis method of zinc oxide (direct method)", and only editorial changes are made.
This standard complies with:
Onion method for testing metallic zinc"
GB/T1467-1978 General principles and general provisions of the standard for chemical analysis methods of metallurgical products GB/T17433--1998 Basic terminology for chemical analysis of metallurgical products This standard will replace GB/T4372.5-1984 from the date of implementation. This standard is proposed by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Standardization and Quality Research Institute. This standard was drafted by the Shuikoushan Mining Bureau. The main drafters of this standard are: Sun Xike, Li Yuyuan, Zeng Guangming. This standard is entrusted to the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals for interpretation. 132
1 Scope
National Standard of the People's Republic of China
Chemical analysis method of zinc oxide produced by direct process
Test of metallic zinc
Methods for chemical analysis of zincoxide produced by direct process-Test of metallic zincwww.bzxz.net
This standard specifies the test method for metallic zinc in zinc oxide produced by direct process. This standard is applicable to the test of metallic zinc in zinc oxide produced by direct process. 2 Summary of the method
GB/T 4372.6—2001
Replaces GB/T4372.5-—1984
The sample is mixed with onion and then mixed with sodium hydroxide solution to form a paste. After heating, if the sample contains metallic zinc, wine red spots will appear, so as to test the presence of metallic zinc. Metallic aluminum also has the same reaction, so this method also includes the test of metallic aluminum. Sulfite, sulfide, thiosulfate, metallic iron, etc. do not affect the test. 3 Reagents
3.1 Onion (grind into salty powder in a mortar before use). 3.2 Sodium hydroxide solution (200g/L).
4 Apparatus
Glass 30ml, bottom diameter about 50mm. 5 Test steps
5.1 Weigh 10.0g of sample.
5.2 Place the sample (5.1) in a dry glass dish, add 0.1g Onion (3.1), stir evenly with a glass rod, and add 12mL of sodium hydroxide solution (3.2). Immediately use a glass rod to make it into a paste. If it still does not become a paste, add 1mL~3mL of sodium hydroxide solution as needed. After it becomes a paste, place it in a water bath and heat for 2 minutes.
5.3 Evaluation
5.3.1 If there are no identifiable red spots, it should be judged that there is no metallic zinc. 5.3.2 If there are identifiable red spots, immediately count the number of spots on the surface. If the total number exceeds 50 spots, it should be judged that there is metallic zinc. If the total number is less than 50 spots, it should still be judged that there is no metallic zinc. Approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China on July 10, 2001, and implemented on December 1, 2001
