Methods of hardness tests for welded joint and cladding metal1 Subject content and scope of application
GB2654—89
Replaces GB2654-81
This standard specifies the hardness test methods for welded joints and cladding metals of metallic materials, used to determine Rockwell, Brinell and Vickers hardness. This standard applies to fusion welded and pressure welded joints and cladding metals. 2 Reference standards
GB2649 Sampling method for mechanical properties test of welded joints GB230 Rockwell hardness test method for metals
GB231, Jinqi Brinell hardness test method
GB4340 Vickers hardness test method for metals
GB4675.5 Weldability test Test method for maximum hardness of welded heat affected zone 8 Sample cutting and specimen preparation
3.1 The orientation, number plate and method of sample cutting shall comply with the provisions of GB2649. 8.2 The sample cut shall include all areas of the welded joint. According to the provisions of the technical conditions, it is allowed to cut a sample specially for determining the hardness of a certain area.
3.3 The hardness test of various joints can be carried out on the metallographic specimen or the specimen can be prepared separately. The surface of the specimen must be parallel to the supporting surface, and the surface roughness shall comply with the provisions of the corresponding hardness test methods GB230, GB231 and GB4340. 4 Test
4.1 According to the standards or technical requirements, Brinell, Rockwell or Vickers hardness testers can be used for measurement. 4.2 The marking line and measurement position of the welded joint should be selected on the cross section of the joint, and the measurement point position of the cladding metal should be carried out on the plane specified by the corresponding standards or technical requirements.
4. The test surface and the supporting surface of the sample should be polished and smoothed. Welded joints with a thickness of less than 3mm are allowed to measure the hardness on their surfaces. 4.4 According to the test requirements, the metal in the passenger area of the welded joint can be clearly displayed by corrosive agents, and the hardness can be measured according to the marking line position in Figure 1. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision in 198905-08

4.6 Brinell, Rockwell. During the Vickers hardness test, the distance between the centers of two adjacent indentations and the center of any indentation and the edge of the specimen shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB 230, GB 231, GB4340 and GB 4675.5. 4. Other matters related to Brinell, Grignard and Vickers hardness tests may be in accordance with the provisions of GB230, GB231, GB4340 and GB4675.5.
4.8 If a welding defect occurs at a measuring point, the test result of that point shall be invalid.
