This standard is developed for the first time based on on-site labor hygiene surveys, epidemiological surveys and toxicological experimental data and reference to foreign occupational exposure limits. It is a health standard used for workplace environmental monitoring and health supervision. This standard shall be implemented from May 1, 2002. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. The drafting unit of this standard: Beijing Institute of Labor Hygiene and Occupational Disease Prevention and Control. The main drafters of this standard: Gao Xing, Shen Yuying, Zhou Sumei, Zhang Xiqiao, Feng Zhengqi. This standard is entrusted to the Institute of Labor Hygiene and Occupational Diseases of the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine for interpretation. 687

The concentration of 2-ethoxyethanol in workshop air is determined by gas chromatography in accordance with GB/T17085. Approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China on December 4, 2001688
