Grades of meteorological conditions for highway traffic
This standard specifies the grades of meteorological conditions that affect highway traffic operation QX/T111—2010
This standard applies to the highway safety and operation management work of the transportation department, and the meteorological monitoring and forecasting services for highways carried out by the meteorological department; it also applies to the media and traffic information release. 2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 2.1
Rainfall intensity
rain strength
Rainfall in one hour (1h) or one minute (1min). The unit is millimeter per hour (mm/h) or millimeter per minute (mm/min).
Pavement temperature
road surfacetemperature
The temperature of the highway pavement (including bridge deck).
Visibility
visibility
During the day, it refers to the maximum horizontal distance at which a target object (black, moderate size) can be seen and identified from the sky background by a person with normal vision (contrast reading value is 0.05) under the prevailing weather conditions; at night, it refers to the maximum horizontal distance at which a medium-intensity luminous body can be seen and identified. The unit is meter (m).

Classification of visibility impact
Based on the classification of visibility (L) affected by fog on highways, see Table 1. Table 1
