This standard is formulated to guide the scientific, rational and safe use of pesticides, effectively prevent and control crop diseases, insects and weeds, and ensure that the pesticide residues in agricultural products do not exceed the prescribed limit standards, so as to protect the environment and ensure human health. This standard is formulated after GB8321.1-87 "Guidelines for the Rational Use of Pesticides (-)", GB8321.2-87 "Guidelines for the Rational Use of Pesticides (II)"
GB8321.3-89 "Guidelines for the Rational Use of Pesticides (III)", and GB8321.4-93 "Guidelines for the Rational Use of Pesticides (IV)". Its preparation format is basically consistent with the "Guidelines for the Rational Use of Pesticides (IV)". This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China. This standard was drafted by 30 units including the Pesticide Testing Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture. The main drafters of this standard are Li Benchang and Gao Xiaohui. Scope

3 Implementation Instructions

3.1 When preventing and controlling crop diseases, insect pests and weeds, the principle of "prevention first, comprehensive prevention and control" should be implemented conscientiously, and various effective non-chemical prevention and control methods should be actively adopted. When using chemical pesticides, local areas should adapt to local conditions and use them flexibly, but they must not exceed the application amount and maximum number of uses specified in this standard. It is recommended that different types of pesticides be used alternately. 3.2 Relevant departments in various places should do a good job in publicity and education, popularize scientific and technological knowledge on the scientific, reasonable and safe use of pesticides, and improve the quality of pesticide application personnel.
3.3 When using pesticides, protection should be taken, and after application, the pesticides should be cleaned promptly and thoroughly, and attention should be paid to preventing pollutants from polluting water sources and the environment. 4 Supervision and Implementation
Relevant departments such as pesticide management, plant protection, environmental protection and health in various places are responsible for supervising the implementation of this standard. Units and individuals using pesticides should accept their supervision and inspection, and provide convenience for their work. 23.1
