This standard replaces JB/T51781991 "Technical requirements for hydrostatic steering system for wheeled tractors".
Compared with JB/T5178-1991, the main changes of this standard are as follows: the steering wheel feel test is replaced by the characteristic curve analysis of the steering wheel operating torque test; the neutral position pressure loss index requirements of the open-center system are added; JB/T5178-2002
The requirements for the difference in the steering wheel rotation angle from the neutral position to the left dead center and from the neutral position to the right dead center are revised; the requirements for the steering wheel creep caused by internal leakage during the high-temperature internal leakage test and after the durability test are revised. This standard is proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Tractor Standardization. The drafting unit of this standard: Luoyang Tractor Research Institute. The main drafters of this standard: Li Xiqin and Qi Jinfeng. This standard was first issued in 1991.
1 Scope
Hydrostatic steering system for wheeled tractors
This standard specifies the technical requirements for the hydrostatic steering system for wheeled tractors. This standard applies to the open-center or closed-center hydrostatic steering system for wheeled tractors. Technical conditions

Note: The hydrostatic steering system of wheeled tractors consists of a hydraulic pump, a hydrostatic steering gear, a steering cylinder, a fuel tank, a filter, various control valves, a cooler, and connecting pipes. (Hereinafter referred to as the steering system) 2 Normative references

3.1 General requirements
3.1.1 The steering system shall comply with the requirements of this standard and be manufactured in accordance with the drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures. 3.1.2 Each component in the steering system shall be assembled only after passing the inspection. 3.1.3 After the steering system assembly is assembled, it shall be inspected according to the requirements of 3.2 of this standard in accordance with the test methods specified in JB/T5183-2002. 3.2 Performance requirements
3.2.1 The total rotation angle of the steering wheel shall not exceed 1800° (five turns). The difference in rotation angle from the neutral position to the left dead center and from the neutral position to the right dead center: For a steering system with two single-rod piston steering cylinders or one double-rod piston steering cylinder, the difference in rotation angle should not be greater than 8% of the total steering wheel rotation angle: For a steering system with only one single-rod piston steering cylinder, the difference in rotation angle should not be greater than 13% of the total steering wheel rotation angle.
3.2.2 The maximum free travel of the steering wheel should not be greater than 30°. 3.2.3 The characteristic curve during the steering wheel operating torque test should be smooth, and the operating torque should not be greater than 10N·m. When the steering wheel is turned to the left dead center and the right dead center, the operating torque should increase significantly. 3.2.4 In the internal leakage test, when the steering system is at the left and right dead center positions, the steering wheel creep caused by internal leakage should not be greater than 3.5r/min.
3.2.5 During the pressure loss test of the steering system, the neutral position pressure loss of the open center system shall be less than 0.3MPa; for the pressure loss during steering, the open center system shall be less than 2MPa, and the closed center system shall be less than 3MPa. 3.2.6 During the manual steering performance test and the low temperature manual steering performance test, manual steering shall be able to be achieved, and the maximum operating force on the steering wheel shall not exceed the specified value of JB/T5999.
3.2.7 During the high temperature internal leakage test, the steering can be turned normally, and the steering wheel creep caused by internal leakage shall not exceed 4.7r/min. 3.2.8 After the endurance test, all parts shall not be damaged, and there shall be no wear or adhesion that affects the steering function. The steering system shall be able to work normally, and the steering wheel creep caused by internal leakage shall not exceed 4.7/min. 3.2.9 During the above tests, the steering system shall not have external leakage. 1
