This standard specifies the width series of mechanically extended screed plates for asphalt concrete pavers. This standard applies to mechanically extended screed plates for asphalt concrete pavers (hereinafter referred to as mechanically extended screed plates). 2 Terminology
2.1 Mechanically Extended Screed Plate
A screed plate that is fastened to another screed plate by fasteners to extend and widen it. 2.2 Mechanically Extended Screed Plate Width

The width dimensions of mechanically extended screeds shall comply with the provisions of the following table. The first series shall be used first. When the design requirements cannot be met, the second series shall be used.
