National Standard of the People's Republic of China
Determination of matter volatile ofpigments at 105℃
This standard specifies the general test method for determining the white fraction of volatile matter in pigment samples at 105℃. UDC 667.622
:667.613.4bzxZ.net
GB 5211.3--85
This standard is applicable to pigments that are stable at 105℃. This standard is equivalent to ISO787/2-1981 "General test methods for pigments and extenders - Part 2: Determination of volatile matter at 105℃".
Note: When this method is applicable to a specific pigment or extender, a special method should be specified to determine the volatile matter only when this general method is not applicable to a specific product, as long as the product standard of the pigment or extender includes a reference to this method and indicates the changes required due to the characteristics of the product.
1 Apparatus
1.1 Weighing bottle: flat.
1.2 Oven: capable of maintaining 105±2℃.
1.3 Balance: accurate to 1 mg or higher.
2 Test procedure
Carry out the determination of the net sample.
2.1 Sample
Uncover the lid of the weighing bottle (1.1), heat it in an oven (1.2) at 105±2℃ for 2h, and cool it in a desiccant (1.4). Cover the bottle and weigh to the nearest img.
Evenly spread a layer of 10±1g of sample on the bottom of the weighing bottle, cover it and weigh to the nearest 1mg. Note: Pigments with a large loose volume must be weighed less. If the sample is less than the specified amount, it should be noted in the test report. 2.2 Determination
Remove the cover and heat the weighing bottle and sample in an oven at 105±2℃ for at least 1h. Cool in a desiccator. Cover the cover and weigh to the nearest 1mg. Heat again for at least 30min and cool in a desiccator. Cover and weigh again to the nearest 1mg. Repeat the operation until the difference between two consecutive weighings does not exceed 5mg. Record the lower weighing value. If the difference between the two sample determinations exceeds 10% of the higher value, it is necessary to repeat the entire operation (Chapter 2). Note: If the sample is unstable at 105℃, the test conditions should be agreed upon by the parties concerned and noted in the test report. 3 Expression of results
The maximum fraction of volatile matter (X) is calculated as follows: X=
-mass of sample, gt
Mass of residue, g.
(mn-m)
Take the average of two determinations and report the test result to one decimal place. Issued by the State Bureau of Standards on July 16, 1985
Implemented on March 1, 1986
Test report
The test report shall at least include the following: Type and name of the test pigment:
Test results in accordance with Table 3, GB 5211.3-85
Differences in the operation specified in this test, especially the temperature used; Test period.
Additional remarks:
This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China and approved by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Paints and Pigments. This standard was drafted by the 8th Working Group of the Technical Committee on Standards for Pigment Testing Methods. The main drafters of this standard are Zheng Wenxu and Zhang Xiuyun.
