This standard specifies the form, basic parameters and selection method of the draft angle of casting pattern (hereinafter referred to as draft angle). This standard is applicable to wooden patterns, metal patterns and plastic patterns used in sand casting. The draft angle is not included in the dimensional tolerance range specified in GB6414-86 "Part Dimension Tolerance". 2 Terminology

On the art drawing, the height of the draft angle formed by the pattern surface (excluding the surface formed by process factors such as the core head and the pouring system)
3 Forms and representation methods of draft angle
3.1 Forms of draft angle
Increase casting size (see Figure 1):
Increase and reduce casting size (see Figure 2), reduce casting size (see Figure 3).

3.2 Selection of draft angle form
a. On the machining surface of the casting, the method of increasing the casting size is adopted; the basic size of the casting
b, on the non-machined surface of the casting that does not cooperate with other parts, the method of increasing, increasing and decreasing or decreasing the casting size is adopted; c.
On the non-machined surface of the casting that cooperates with other parts, the method of decreasing or increasing and decreasing the casting size is adopted. In special cases, the draft angle should be agreed upon by the casting technician and the product designer, and the form and value of the draft angle should be indicated in the technical documents or contracts,

The draft angle is expressed in the product process drawings and technical documents in the following two ways: It is expressed by the inclination angle α formed by the draft angle: It is expressed by the size of the casting increased or decreased by the draft angle h.

4.1 When using sticky sand molding, the draft angle value of the outer surface of the pattern is selected according to Table 1; the draft angle value of the inner surface of the pattern concave is selected according to Table 2. When the calling point is too deep, it can be formed by a live block or a core. 4.2 When using self-hardening sand molding, the draft angle value of the outer surface of the pattern is selected according to Table 3: The draft angle value of the inner surface of the pattern concave is allowed to increase by 50% according to the value in Table 3. When the calling point is too deep, it can be formed by a live block or a core. 4.3 For molds that are difficult to demold, a larger draft angle is allowed, but it shall not exceed one time of the value in the table. 4.4 The draft angle of the core box can refer to Tables 1 to 3. 4.5
When the working pressure of the molding machine is above 700kPa, the draft angle values listed in Tables 1 to 3 are allowed to be increased: but not more than 50%. If the casting structure itself has sufficient slope in the demolding direction, the draft angle shall not be increased. --For castings, the draft angles of the upper and lower molds should be at the same point on the parting surface.
