This standard is proposed with reference to the international standard ISO56/2--1979 "Mechanism Shellac" on the indicators of dewaxed, decolorized and dewaxed shellac. Definition
Dewaxed shellac refers to shellac made from raw shellac or granular shellac, which is refined by alcohol method to remove wax. Decolorized shellac sheet is a waxy light-colored shellac sheet decolorized with activated carbon, while decolorized dewaxed shellac sheet is a light-colored shellac sheet that is basically free of wax after being dewaxed and then decolorized with activated carbon.
2 Technical requirements
The technical indicators of each level of shellac sheet are as follows:
Indicator name
Color index, number
Hot ethanol insoluble matter, %
Wax, %
Heat hardening time (170±0.5℃), min softening point, ℃
Water content, %
Water soluble matter, %
Ash content, %
Note: ① No other adulterants are allowed to be added to the product. ②If there are special requirements for acid value, saponification value and iodine value, they shall be agreed upon by both parties. 3 Other regulations
Dewaxed shellac sheets

According to the agreement between the two parties
Decolorized shellac sheets
3.1 Dewaxed shellac sheets tend to clump, but the clumps do not affect the quality. They can be dissolved by crushing them when used. 3.2 Other relevant regulations shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of GB8138-87 "Shellac Sheets". Approved by the Ministry of Forestry of the People's Republic of China on November 12, 1987

4 Packaging, transportation and storage
GB8139-87
4.1 Dewaxed shellac sheets are packed in wooden boxes or other packaging materials, lined with a layer of kraft paper, and the net weight of each box is 25kg. The manufacturer, product name, grade and production date shall be indicated on the packaging box. The words "sun-proof" and "moisture-proof" shall also be marked. A certificate of product inspection results shall be placed in the box. 4.2 Dewaxed shellac sheets and decolorized shellac sheets should be transported in refrigerated containers as much as possible. If conditions permit, they should be transported at low temperatures as much as possible. They must be covered during transportation and are strictly prohibited from being exposed to the sun and rain. 4.3 Dewaxed and decolorized shellac sheets should be stored in low-temperature refrigerators as much as possible. If conditions permit, they should be stored in cool, dry and ventilated rooms as much as possible to prevent agglomeration. 5 Product analysis and inspection
The various indicators of the products in this standard shall be inspected in accordance with GB-8143 Additional Notes:
