Summary:

This standard specifies the quantitative analysis method of natural and synthetic silicate minerals stabilized by electron beam by electron probe or X-ray wavelength dispersive spectrometer in scanning electron microscope. This standard is also applicable to other oxygen-containing salts, such as phosphates, sulfates and common oxides. Its basic principles are also applicable to quantitative analysis by X-ray spectrometer.
