This standard is a revision of QB QB1132-1991 "Regulations on the Thickness of Silver Covering Layers for Jewelry". QB1132-2005 Compared with QB1132-1991, the main changes in this standard are the addition of Chapter 2 Normative Reference Documents and Chapter 5 Test Methods. This standard is proposed by the China Light Industry Federation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Jewelry Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC256). The drafting unit of this standard is the National Jewelry Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. The main drafters of this standard are Fan Jifang and Li Suqing. , Li Yuou, Li Wujun. This standard was first issued in June 1991, and this is the first revision. From the date of implementation of this standard, the light industry standard QB1132-1991 "Regulations on the Thickness of Silver Covering Layer of Jewelry" issued by the former Ministry of Light Industry will be abolished.
1 Scope
Regulations on the Thickness of Silver Covering Layer
This standard specifies the terms and requirements, inspection methods and markings for the thickness of silver covering layer of jewelry products.
This standard is applicable to jewelry products with non-silver matrix.

The silver coating obtained by mechanically wrapping silver foil firmly on the base of jewelry products is called silver-clad coating. 3.2

4.2.1 The silver content of the silver-clad

The arbitration inspection shall adopt chemical analysis method. The average thickness of the silver coating can be calculated according to the silver mass, silver density and surface area. For detailed description of chemical analysis method, please refer to QBT11345.2. The second method (non-destructive testing method) can be used with the consent of the manufacturer and the purchaser. Refer to QBT1135.
