English summary
This standard specifies methods for the manual ultrasonic examination of fusion welded joints in metallic materials equal to and above 8 mm thick with low ultrasonic attenuation. It is primarily intended for full penetration welded joints where both the welded and parent material are ferritic. The standard defines four examination levels corresponding to different probabilities of detecting imperfections and provides methods for assessing indications based on length and echo amplitude.
