This standard partially changes the technical content of GB/T1744-1979 (1989) "Determination of drying power of driers" and makes comprehensive editorial revisions to it.
The difference between this standard and GB/T1744 in technical content is: the iodine value of refined linseed oil is changed from above 180 to above 175. From the date of implementation of this standard, the original GB/T1744—1979 (1989) shall be abolished. This standard is proposed by the Technical Supervision Department of the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Paints and Pigments; the drafting unit of this standard is the Changzhou Paint Chemical Research Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry; the drafter of this standard is Ji Xiaoman.

3.1 Refined linseed oil: iodine value above 175; 3.2 Glass plate 90mm×120mm×(2~3)mm 3.3 Paint brush: width 25mm~35mm;
3.4 Beaker: 50mL;
3.5 Balance: sensitivity 0.01g. bzxZ.net
4 Operating steps
4.1 According to the ratio specified in the drier standard, weigh (accurate to 0.01g) drier and refined linseed oil, mix them evenly in the beaker and let them stand for 2h~5h. According to 6.1 brush coating method in GB/T1727, prepare the coating on the glass plate and dry it under the conditions specified in GB9278.
4.2 According to the time specified in the drying agent standard, use Method B in Chapter 2 of GB/T1728 (finger touch method) and Method C in Chapter 3 (blade method) to judge the surface dryness and thorough dryness of the coating. The drying performance is expressed in h. 5 Test report
The test report shall at least include the following contents: a) Model and name of the tested product;
b) Indicate the adoption of this industry standard;
c) Any differences from the contents specified in this standard d) Test results;
e) Test date.

4 Operating steps
