Determination Method of Apparent Relative Density and Total Porosity of Coke
Coke-Determining Method of Apparent Relative Density and Total Porosity
This standard is applicable to the determination of apparent relative density and total porosity of coke such as foundry coke and metallurgical coke. 1 Terminology
UDC 662.613.13
: 581.755.1
+539.217.1
GB 4511.384
1.1 False relative density, also known as apparent relative density. It is the mass ratio of a certain amount of coke of any size to the same volume of water. 1.2 Total porosity: the ratio of the sum of the volume of the natural pores and the closed pores of a piece of coke to the total volume. 2 Test principle
According to Archimedes' principle, measure the mass of water with the same volume as the coke sample, and then calculate the pseudo relative density of the coke. 8 Instruments and test steps
Perform the test according to the provisions of GB-4511.1-84 Determination of apparent porosity of coke. 4 Calculation of test results
The pseudo relative density of coke (d) is calculated according to formula (1): Mt-m
ds\(M-m2)-(Ms-m)
Where: M,——the mass of the coke and the wire mesh basket after flooding, g-the mass of the wire mesh, M;
Mz——the mass of the coke sample and the wire mesh basket with drainage tray after water erosion, g;
M,——the mass of the coke sample and the wire mesh basket suspended in water after water saturation, m-the mass of the wire mesh basket suspended in water, K. 5 Test error
5.1 The error between the test results of two and a half tests in the same laboratory shall not exceed 0.02. 5.2 The error between different test results shall not exceed 0.03. B. Calculation method of total porosity of coke
The total porosity of coke (P)% is calculated according to formula (2): P()
Where: d-real relative density of coke,
Promulgated by the National Bureau of Standards on June 28, 1984
Implementation on June 1, 1985
ds-false relative density of coke.
The results are reported in numbers accurate to %
